A SHORT STORY
Plaza de Bolivar is a square in the historic heart of Bogota. On the square stands a statue of Simón Bolivar which was created in 1846 by the Italian sculptor Pietro Tenerani. It is the first public monument in Bogota. Simón Bolivar was the president of Gran Colombia (1819-30) which consisted of Venezuela, Colombia, Panama, Bolivia, Ecuador and Peru. Another great statue is the statue of Santander which stand in the middle of the Parque Santander.
